Panasonic’s Full Metal Eluga I3 Mega Has A Quad-Core CPU

Panasonic‘s Full Metal Eluga I3 Mega smartphone has a Quad-Core CPU to power the device, and that’s just the start. This is Panasonic’s latest smartphone packed with a decent spread of mid-level specifications and some premium materials that are sure to take notice, not the least of which is the metal used for the body makeup of the phone itself. In addition to the metal body material, the Eluga I3 Mega is also equipped with a 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display, and it’s powered by a MediaTek 6735 processor.

Thanks to the use of metal for the phone body material Panasonic is able to offer a smartphone that has a premium design without tacking on a premium price, which should make this phone more attainable to the general public who isn’t all that concerned with the most powerful hardware on a mobile device. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and while the RAM is about equal with other mid-range smartphones, 16GB of internal storage space is pretty low for a smartphone these days even at the level of the market that the Eluga I3 Mega is targeting. Luckily, expandable storage is supported with the use of a micro SD card if more than 16GB is needed.

In terms of the rest of the specs, the Eluga I3 Mega is carrying a 4,000mAh battery which is quite a bit more than most smartphones these days, even those that are aimed at the high-end of the market. Beyond the battery, the Eluga I3 Mega has a 13-megapixel camera on the back of the device and a 5-megapixel camera on the front, while also coming with Android 6.0 Marshmallow onboard and coming in two different colors which include champagne gold and silver. The phone comes with a pretty large battery capacity, but it still supports USB 2.0 and it doesn’t mention anything about Quick Charge 3.0 support, so it might take a while to charge up the big battery that it does have, which might be a downside to having such a large battery capacity. It doesn’t look like there is any information on a possible launch date or price for the phone just yet, though since it’ coming from Panasonic it’s not likely to hit the U.S. as none of their phones tend to launch in that region.
