Computex-2017 welcomes Acer Chromebook 11 with 8GB RAM

It is available here

Indians should go here to get it
Acer’s Chromebook 11 has shown its face at Computex in Taipei this week. It’s a bit of an interesting Chromebook, as it apparently has 8GB of RAM as well as a pretty powerful processor under the hood. So it definitely isn’t your typical 11-inch Chromebook that’s pretty cheap. There are options for Intel Core i3 and Intel Core i5 Celeron processors (7th generation), as well as options of 2GB of RAM on up to 8GB of RAM. It does have Military Grade impact resistance, as well as up to 13 hours of battery life.

However, this Chromebook isn’t aimed at the general market, unfortunately it’s going to be an Educational Chromebook. Meaning that Acer is looking to sell this to schools and school systems for use with students. And that’s why it has Military Grade impact resistance. It also has a unique liquid drainage design, something that hasn’t been shown on other Chromebooks in the past. But these are all features to help keep the Chromebook 11 working well, despite being in the hands of students all day long. And of course, the 13 hours of battery life is pretty much par the course for Chromebooks these days. Ports for this Chromebook include a USB-C for charging, as well as HDMI, USB 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, micro SD card slot, and a Kensington lock (which is a popular feature for classrooms, so that students don’t walk off with these devices).
This Chromebook 11 was sitting out on the show floor at Computex, obviously it wasn’t supposed to be sitting out there, since it is unannounced. There’s not much to go on really about this Chromebook just yet, for example, there’s no release date or any pricing available. But since it is aimed at Education customers, it likely will be fairly cheap. Hopefully this will be one of the few Chromebooks that Acer decides to offer to the general public. Since it looks pretty solid, and it’s something that many Chromebook users would definitely like to get their hands on, if the price is right. Acer will likely unveil it in the coming weeks, as the company is big on education Chromebooks and Chromebooks in general.
